「cabinet」は作品販売でアーティストをサポートするプロジェクトです。主に大四ツサイズまでのプリントを扱います。いわゆる写真のマーケットでは扱われにくいサイズですが、そもそも販売される作品のサイズは国際的なマーケットの事情や流れに左右される要素も大きく、日本人の生活スタイルや作品購入のファーストステップを踏み出そうとしている潜在的な買い手の要望に必ずしも合致している訳ではありません。

　一方で、作品としてのプリントが持つ力はとても興味深いものです。アーティストが出したい色や質感を細部までこだわって制作したプリントは、美しいという言葉だけでは言い表せない魅力に溢れています。プリントを手元に置いて眺めるという経験は、展覧会では得られない何かを与えてくれるでしょう。

　また、「cabinet」は若手アーティストが作品販売という体験を通して、自作が販売される意義の有無、市場の動きや他者の欲求と自らの表現との差異や類似点などを考える貴重な機会になります。

　「cabinet」では、まず9アーティストによる130枚のプリントをご用意しました。主な価格帯は、10,000円〜50,000円です。キャビネットから自由に取り出し、ご自由にご覧いただけます。並べてご覧いただけるよう、広いテーブルも設置してあります。写真集やZine、その他通常の展示では見ることのできないレアな作品・グッズを数多く取り揃えております。ぜひお気軽にお立ち寄りください。

“cabinet” is a project supporting artists through artwork sales. We primarily deal with prints up to 10×12 inches in size. While often overlooked in typical photography markets, the sizes of artworks sold are largely influenced by international market trends. These don’t always align with Japanese lifestyles or the needs of potential buyers taking their first step into art collecting.

On the other hand, the appeal of prints as artworks is truly captivating. Meticulously crafted by artists with careful attention to colors and textures, prints possess an allure that goes beyond mere beauty. Having a print in hand and contemplating it offers an experience distinct from viewing art in an exhibition.

Moreover, “cabinet” provides young artists with a valuable opportunity to experience artwork sales. Through this, they can reflect on the significance of selling their work and consider the differences and similarities between market trends, others’ desires, and their own expressions.

At “cabinet”, we have prepared 130 prints by 9 artists. The main price range is between 10,000 and 50,000 yen. You’re free to take prints out of the cabinet and view them at your leisure. We’ve set up spacious tables for you to lay out and compare different works. We offer a wide selection of photo books, zines, and other rare items not typically seen in regular exhibitions.
